I just thought i would post up about NILIF (nothing in life is free). I think its a great way to teach your dog manners and help toward training your dog. Its a very easy way to help toward a dog learning his boundaries.
Do you have a dog with aggression or dominance issues? A dog that is insecure, pushing and demanding you attention? NILIF is the perfect and harmless way to teach your dog that you are the boss and they are the follower..
In order to use NILF in your training routine. Its really a matter of using it through out your daily routine. The dog doesn't get anything unless he does something for you in return.. For example... if its time for him to eat. call for him if hes not already in there with you. Make him sit and wait till you give him a release command. Or if its time to go out. Make him sit or do something and wait for you to put the leash on and open the door. But don't allow him anything he wants until he does something for you! Even if that means get pet or get on the couch or bed. They seem to learn quite quick who is the boss and how they are suppose to act. Just from using NILIF in your daily routine. Happy training!

Thanks for posting this explanation. While I do this about 90% of the time, I realize I'm lacking that 10%.
NILIF is a good reminder.
Thanks again!
